Gabe Burlacu

Gabriel Burlacu is a member and independent athlete with our Canadian Beach Volleyball Team. He has represented Canada on the FIVB World Tour for the past 9 years. He is currently training full-time and looking to achieve his first international medal for Canada.

"The reason that I love coaching and working with athletes of all ages is because I have such a deep passion for sports, mainly volleyball (beach) and soccer. I want to help be a part of the next generation of Canadian athletes. My goal is to develop athletes of all ages and grow the sport of beach volleyball. It is such a fun sport that I wish I had discovered earlier in my athletic development. For me, it is such a happy experience seeing my athletes starting from as young as 6 years old with NEWWAVE. I am very motivated to better myself as a coach and an athlete in order to achieve this for our country, my parents, NEWWAVE and myself. I hope that I can be a role model for athletes and to teach them things that are beneficial outside of volleyball too."
